Tangle
A chain of curved plastic pieces, each joined to the next by a turning joint. It looks like a colorful noodle and never has a “right” shape.

- Twist it into a pretzel, then undo it one joint at a time. Count the turns if you want a tiny puzzle.
How it works
Each joint is a cylinder inside a socket. Twist one segment and it spins on that axle. There are no springs — only rotation and the curve of the pieces.
Because every link can turn, the number of shapes is huge. Your hands keep finding a new twist, which is why it is hard to put down and also why it stays quiet.
Smooth joints feel buttery. Gritty joints mean cheap plastic or dirt in the socket. A drop of time (and not oil, which eats some plastics) is usually: just keep it clean.
Lots of small joint turns, very little sound. That is why a tangle works when you want a quiet toy.
